Beautiful things deserve to exist

Bandcamp Friday

Every day's a great day to support the music you love, but today's just a little *extra* great!
Bandcamp Friday, written in black bubble letters, with a white sheen, set against a beige background, with a lilac squiggle behind the letters.

It's Bandcamp Friday today, and as I was thinking about writing something up to promote, I realised it's honestly a little overwhelming to think of how much music we've been fortunate to put out in our first year actively releasing the projects we've been developing! So this post is a catch-all to point you toward some of that stuff, but it's also a genuine thank you to everyone who's made this possible for Sanzuwu Group – both artists and supporters!

We hope you'll pick up some music from us if you haven't already, but either way we're glad you're here :)

Paul Chin - PROFESSIONAL

Album art by Paul Chin. Bracelet designed & crafted by Liane Vaz.

Up next, we've got Paul Chin's EP about friendship breakups, PROFESSIONAL. The last two years since the release of his debut album were marked with incredible career feats, including tour dates across the US, Canada, and Japan, and legendary collaborations with the likes of Madison McFerrin and Kid Koala. But that season also saw lots of turmoil in his personal relationships. Mostly on the other side of it now, the producer returns with his most ambitious project yet, beginning with this three track offering, reminiscent of Chance the Rapper, Kimbra, and Gorillaz.

PROFESSIONAL will be out November 4th.

Go Yama - Rumi

Album art by Hansol Kim.

The album that started it all! Go Yama's novel + soundtrack combo Rumi was the project that sparked the idea to start Sanzuwu Group, and we're so proud of this record! The reception has been great, and we were even fortunate enough to see the album climb to #2 on the Electronic chart at CJUM 101.5 in Winnipeg, MB!

Volume 1: Sanzuwu

Album art by Paul Chin.

Our Volume 1 compilation was a perfect opportunity to work with some of our friends and favourite artists in left-field hip-hop and electronic music; the platonic ideal of running an artist-owned record label! A short-and-sweet little sampler, showcasing the variety of sounds we love, and hope to champion!
